Dealing With Layoffs

With economic struggles continuing across the country, layoffs are commonplace. On the surface, it may appear that a layoff only affects the individual who is losing their job. They are the one that no longer has a full income from employment. This person can seek unemployment payment from the government, or a possibly a severance from their employer. They must also enter a job market that is full of employees and very open employers. However, the layoffs affect the workplace that was left behind, sometimes almost as hard. Often times, those who make the work of other employees effective and possible are released. These employees are expected to continue their level of work, but no longer have the aid of the eliminated employee.
