California Edd Qualification

To meet the California EDD qualification for unemployment insurance requires that you lose your job without intending to do so. You must also meet earnings and length of employment requirements. Many disputes arise over whether a person's termination was voluntary or involuntary. There are a number of guidelines that define how to handle different situations. For example, people are denied claims because employers claim the job was abandoned. In other cases, employees claim they were forced to resign and the termination should still be considered as involuntary. Without extenuating circumstances a person who voluntarily quits a job is not eligible for unemployment insurance benefits. People who fail to qualify for benefits can appeal an EDD determination to an administrative judge. Unless you fully understand the law and your rights, it is advisable to consult with an attorney first.
